Special Exhibit - 64 foot long Short Snorter! This exhibit is presented by ANA Past President Jeff Garret and his wife, Mary Lynn Garrett, current ANA Governor. This is an exhibit of banknotes assembled by US Air Force Major General Clayton L. Bissell, a flying ace in WWII, later to become Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence and military attache to Great Britain. A "short snorter" is a less than full shot glass of liquor allowed pilots before a flight. A tradition started by Alaska bush pilots, they and their important passengers tralvelling together would sign sets of banknotes before a hazardous flight for good luck, with the intention to all meet afterward for a drink. Autographs of more than 300 wartime dignitaries, generals, admirals, prime ministers and even presidents will be seen. (See the Short Snorter Project at www.ShortSnorter.org )
